The Revolution Was Not Televised

There was no revolution. The images we saw – riots, building in flames, masked youths – were part of a viral marketing campaign. Every image had been carefully posed in a studio, and they had photoshopped the images in each world capital city. They started a rumour that the news was acting with the government to hide the truth. Social media was abuzz with indignant rage. They shared the images.

The images were just adverts.
