When you walk in to the church, there will be a tin and a knife on the first pew. The tin contains ashes. These are the remains of two turtle doves, cremated. You will notice the smell of burnt sage. There will be twelve prayer candles lit by the pulpit. Pour the ashes into the baptismal font. With the knife, cut the ring-finger on your left hand and allow three drops of blood to fall into the water.
Wait just a moment. The candles will blow out.
Wash your hands in the water.
This is the ritual.
